BEFORE
3. GRANT OF RIGHTS
Authors hereby assign and transfer to [Publisher] all present and future copyrights and other rights in the Work (including supplements to and revised editions of the Work) and in the teacher's manual. [Publisher] will have the right to publish the Work and teacher's manual or portions of either in book form and in such other formats or media, including electronic media, as it deems advisable, and to license others to do the same. Format and media, style, paper, binding, packaging, number of copies, title, price, marketing, advertising, scope and timing of revised editions and electronic or other versions, and similar matters will be decided by [Publisher].
AFTER
3. GRANT OF RIGHTS
3.1 The Authors hereby assign to [Publisher] the exclusive publication rights in the Work (including supplements to and revised editions of the Work). [Publisher] will have the right to publish the Work in book form. [Publisher] may, with the consent of the Authors, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld, publish the work in such other formats or media as it deems advisable and license others to do the same. The scope and timing of revised editions and of electronic or other versions will be decided by [Publisher] in consultation with the Authors.
3.2 The format and media, style, paper, binding, packaging, number of copies, title, price, marketing, advertising, and similar matters will be decided by [Publisher].
3.3 [Publisher] shall have the right independently to grant reprint permissions that promote the publication and do not unduly harm the value of the materials, for example for inclusion in course materials. If [Publisher] charges a fee for these permissions, the Authors’ share shall be as set forth [elsewhere in the contract].
3.4 The Authors reserve the right to provide the Universities at which they teach a royalty-free right to use a reasonable portion of the Work within the Universities for teaching, research, and other non-commercial University purposes.
